CJ Gulli! That’s the name behind the Dj/Producer Monokode. Born in Nigeria but grown up in the south of italy (Naples), He has his first approach with electronic music at the age of 12, During a school-trip in the north of italy in a little club right outside jesolo. That was love at first sight!

Once back in Naples he starts to gain as much knowledge as possible and that wasn’t difficult since the techno scene was already up and running. Meanwhile he meets Renato Pezzella (a.k.a. Randy Stone) An up and coming dj that taught him everything about beat-mixing, 2 years later he got his own decks and starts developing his own mixing technique and building his own style: Minimal-Techno.

That’s it! A year later Monokode is resident at the Sunday afternoon at le Dune and he plays with djs like Mike Grant, Damon Wild, Bandulu and Robert Armani, Marco Carola, And from there he goes all across italy,Austria and switzerland spreading his particular sound and style.

After a forced year break he had to take due to the national service, he decides that before getting back into djing, he had to learn how to become a good producer and he managed to do that through a musician friend that explained and showed him everything about music-tech and DAW.

In 2001 Monokode flies to London to taste the underground scene, and he’s amazed by the quality of sound but also worried about the huge competition so…. he decides to stay and give it a shot. In 2004 he went to study Sound Design and Music-Technology While he is slowly building up his studio. Life is hard over there, he struggles but he master's it! During a performance of Richie Hawtin in London at the SEONE, Monokode meets Brian Alderson (a.k.a. B-Random, Nokken) a young, South African dj/producer with his same musical taste and together, a year later They create the project: “Codekontrol ”
